Cross-Border Strategic Advisory

Strategic advisory and introducer services between sophisticated international counterparties and Gulf strategic capital. Active across shipping and maritime, energy infrastructure, logistics and trade, and family-group strategic transitions in the GCC, Africa, and Europe.

Over twenty years of senior experience in cross-border advisory across the UK, Asia, the GCC, and North Africa, supporting principals, family offices, and government-linked entities through complex commercial, succession, and strategic decisions.

Ashford Advisory is a Qatar Financial Centre-regulated boutique strategic advisory firm operating at the intersection of Gulf capital and international commerce.

We support principals, family groups, and select institutional clients through cross-border strategic transactions, introducer mandates, succession and leadership transitions, and complex commercial decision-making across the GCC, Africa, and Europe. The firm works discreetly, on a retained basis, with a small number of clients whose mandates warrant the depth of relationship and Chairman-level access we provide.

WHO WE ARE

Francis Higgins

Managing Director

Francis is the firm's Managing Director and an experienced cross-border advisor with over twenty years supporting principals, family offices, and corporate clients across the UK, Asia, the GCC, and North Africa.

His current work spans shipping and maritime asset acquisitions and operations, floating energy infrastructure (FLNG and FPSO), port operations and concessions, international logistics joint ventures, and the structural succession and reputational dimensions of family-group leadership transitions. He acts as exclusive Introducer and Strategic Advisor on mandates involving Gulf principals and international counterparties in shipbuilding, ship management, port operations, and offshore energy.

He has particular experience structuring cross-border commercial agreements and joint ventures in the GCC and Mediterranean, including non-circumvention frameworks, sell-side and buy-side advisory engagements, and minority-shareholder protections. He works alongside the firm's clients on transactional documentation, governance, and dispute-resolution architecture.
